Major Chords: StageLab

Major Chords: StageLab
is our Performance Band Program,
designed for students who are ready to take the skills they’ve learned in private lessons to the next level.
Each week, students come together for
band practice and jam sessions
that put their musicianship into action,
introducing new creative and technical skills,
and providing a focused path toward performance.
Major Chords: StageLab is where
our community bands take shape.
From here, students step onto real stages,
performing at festivals, venues
and neighborhood events, becoming a
recognizable part of Saginaw’s arts scene.
Side by side with veteran musicians,
they gain not only experience
but also a place in the city’s
vibrant musical community.
Major Chords: StageLab
is where practice meets purpose, where every rehearsal is a step toward the stage
and the music comes alive.
Musicianship & Creativity
We explore timing, harmony, dynamics,
chart reading,
and transposition,
shaping songs with
intention and musicality.
Songwriting &
Ensemble Craft
We arrange cover songs, write original tunes,
plan engaging concerts
and design setlists
that bring our bands’
unique sound to life.
Presence & Communication
We practice performing and public speaking with confidence, connecting with an audience, and discovering our unique voice on stage.
Collabs &
Band Culture
We grow as thoughtful and constructive collaborators,
developing leadership
and teamwork skills
while navigating real ensemble dynamics.
Production &
Tech Skills
We gain hands-on experience with gear,
set up and sound,
building knowledge
and skills to become
self-sufficient musicians.
